It started as a surprise. My parents picked me up and said ”we have a surprise for you”. How can I be expecting science world. Last time my parents gave me a surprise it was sunscreen. So what was I to expect? The next day went quickly, and the next thing I knew we were going somewhere. Somewhere called Science World.
Science World is this amazing place to explore and learn different topics in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design, and Math. It is located in Vancouver, Canada. They feature different exhibitions and kids always have lots of fun there. I love going there and I was very sad that they were closed since this pandemic started. But hey, they are opened again!
In Science World they had a rule you had to wear masks. My younger sister was so excited … At first I was worried but as soon as I stepped in Science World I felt way better …. It was so empty, it was so cool. There was hand sanitizer everywhere so when we are done touching stuff we just use the hand sanitizer.
Our first exhibition, we went to see bees. Then we stepped on a scale, something to see your animal weight (my weight equals the weight of Aardvark). We saw sculptures of beavers, dinosaurs, living creatures like tarantulas, stick creatures and much more.
When we explored everything there, we saw a wheelchair race video game. How does it work? So basically you sit in a wheelchair and grab your wheels and spin them till you win the race. I beat everyone in the game, so at least I was good in that game. Next was the skiing video game. That was awesome, the graphics was amazing, and it looked so real. But it was really hard and by really hard i mean REALLY HARD.
We had lots of fun really … The main activity was called “towers of tomorrow” with huge lego towers. There were really huge Lego buildings … way taller than you and me, even than the tallest man in the world. One of the coolest parts was the robot … hm … there was a robot of the size of an eraser and we got to use them, it was so cool. I coded it and it was awesome until it couldn’t stop moving … We also saw the plasma ball and a piano that you can play with your feet. We got to use a writing machine. When we went outside there was this peddle thing that the more you pedal the more electricity you produce and give to phones ….
That was my experience in Science World during this Covid 19 season. I strongly recommend to everyone as there’s really no difference except that you have to wear a mask and that it was way less people than usually.
